Read Today at calciomercato.com:

It seems that Juve is interested to buy the "New Robero Carlos" Mercelo from Fluminense. They are ready to buy 6 mil Euros and let him there since January and then take him at Juve. But there is a close concurenz with Roma that are looking for this players for some months. Fluminense has refused a Offer from CSKA because it was not enough high. Marcelo has made his 2 match in the new Dunga Team and scored against Argentina.

i really hope that we will get him but i dont know if he will become a new Gladstone (Gladstone hasnt made 1 match for us...). But i think that he is very very interesting. But is he still now overrated? A question for our Brasil-Specialists here in the Forum.

Sounds promising and this may not be a gladstone case as several clubs are after him already and his already had a few caps for the NT.

I dont think we will loan him if we sign him.
Since everytime we buy a young or tipped to be player loan him to a Serie B side
and the last thing on Juve`s mind is to strengthen their opponents

I don't think it will be another Gladstone case, because we got Gladstone on loan, and Marcelo already made name for himself in Brazil and he is a future for Brazil NT. And if we buy him, he will not be going on loan, maybe he will stay in Brazil till the end of season, and another option is maybe to play him as a LB and move Chiellini to CB which in my opinion would be good.

i watched this guy the other day when brazil played wales, he's 18 years old and he scored from the edge of the area with a rocket of a shot to break the deadlock (something which ronaldinho and kaka couldn't do lol!), he also nearly scored a 2nd from the same distance, hes strong, quick and skilled, looks like a very very interesting player we'd do very well to sign him

Why are you saying that?
Is this Marcelo a LB anyway?

but we want a left back that is capable of defending, we currently have 2 attacking fullbacks, leave the scoring to ale and co ;)

chiellini and balzaretti....we need no left back unless balzaretti will stay as a right back. if chiellini is moving to centre back then fine but as it stands, we have enough for the time being.

we cant keep looking at young players cuz the club has so many now and most are being loaned again.

Most of brazilian players are over rated.
When a brazilian scores an outstanding goal, media talks about it highly and consider him a hot prospect.
what if someone from another country scored like Marcelo's goal?

What did happen to Gladstone anyway? He was sent to Hellas Verona in the winter break, but that's the last I've heard of him.

Imho the goal capped off an outstanding game for the lad. As far as brazilian fullbacks go, at least marcelo looked half interested in defending.

this is good news,we need a terzino sinistro but i hope he will really be a new r.carlos
but in the same time,i think it would be better to find a CB and a playmaker first

You can tell whatever you want, but Carlos is not shite (ok maybe nowdays he is because his age), and you can't compare Athirson and Marcelo considering that Athirson never made at NT, and Marcelo already played few games for NT and he is the best player in Brazil at that position (supposedly). But one thing I must agree, that signing is risky. Every year we have "new R. Carlos" and how many of the actually made it, and we all know Juve policy to buy proven players and to give big sum for unproven player.

But however, Marcelo signing is only another rumour which never gonna happen... I mean just remember with how many players we are linked every season, and how many actually joined us...

Athirson did make the national team and a bit of a sensation when he was younger. If were as good as inter and milan at forging passports he would have played for us.We in affect totally curtailed his career.

However i do agree marcello is a risk and a risk juve would never take.
