This is mainly for the supersitious type people and followers of France and Italy

First of all Italian supporters

Since 1970, Italy have always gotten to the wc final every other 12 years
But the most significant thing is this, in the last 40 years or so, only once has 4 Europena teams got to the final of the wc and thats was the last time they won it was in 1982 and the semi finalists there were believe it or not Italy, West Germany, France and Poland
This time its the same 3 and the other is Portugal whose first 2 letters are PO
Other minor facts are there was a scandal that year too, Rossi did not score until the 4th game and Toni did the same.
I also think its the first time since 1982 that the captain of Italy is a Juventus player

As for France the last time they won a major tournament, they had Italy Holland, France and Portugal in the semis
They met Portugal in the semis who they beat and ITALY met the hosts of that event which was Holland and we all know what happened then
Then again this might be all shite and neither team might get to final but it does make for some interesting ponder

ive got another interesting 'omen' for azzuri fans.

brazil won their 3rd world cup in 1970 and their 4th in 1994.a gap pf 24 years.
italy won their 3rd world cup in 1982.add 24 to it,and we end up on 2006.

8 years before their 4th triumph,brazil got knocked out in the quarters by france on penlaties.
8 years before 2006,italy got knocked out in the quarters by france.

4 years before their 4th triumph,brazil got knocked out in the 2nd round.
4 years before 2006,italy got knocked out in the 2nd round.

it could be just coincidence,but hey, thats whay everyone said when liverpool won their 5th CL title

it sure makes for interesting reading if not anything else.

Kinda looking spooky aint it? In 1970 Italy lost to Brazil and won the world cup 12 years after. 12 years after that, Italy got to the final and lost to , yes you guessed it Brazil. So now if we are gonna follow the cycle, 12 years after that, Italy are back in the final, and by going by the cycles, they should win it.

Every European championship after their world cup final appearance, Italy have struggled. They did not qualify in 84 and went out first round in 96. Then again if Lippi is manager, it might mean he would take Italy to the final, but this time might lose to underdog
