Marotta would accept Juve job Tuesday 23 May, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sampdoria director general Beppe Marotta says he’s ready to join Juventus if the Turin outfit make him an offer.

The Bianconeri are looking for a new transfer wizard to replace Luciano Moggi after Franco Baldini rejected the role over the weekend.

The Doria official has been linked as a consequence and he has opened the door for a Stadio Delle Alpi switch.

“I haven’t had anyone from Juventus call,” Marotta told the La Stampa newspaper on Tuesday. “But some talk and discuss from people close to the club have arrived.

“Nevertheless, I haven’t had the opportunity to accept or decline anything as of yet,” continued the Genoa-based director.

“However, it would be more difficult to turn them down rather than say yes. Juventus are a unique opportunity, I couldn’t refuse a call.”

Marotta is believed to be in pole position for the role which the club would like to fill as soon as possible.

Chievo’s Giovanni Sartori has also been associated, as has Lecce’s highly-experienced Carlo Regalia.

Should Marotta arrive, there is the possibility that Samp Coach Walter Novellino could follow him to Turin if Fabio Capello opts to leave Juve.

Although the latter has insisted that he will remain, that may not necessarily be the case if Juventus are demoted to Serie B as a result of the alleged match-fixing allegations what you think please discuss.

well, looks like we wont a get big name internationally in the moggi position.

but again moggi wasnt a big name until after a few years in juve.

it doesnt matter imo, the only thing that matters is that he has a good plan for the team and has good negotiation and knows wat comments to say in the media.
