European heavyweights Juventus and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in Porto starlet Pepe.

The 23-year-old Brazilian was drafted into the Porto squad a couple of years ago to replace Ricardo Carvalho, who moved on to Chelsea.

His performances since have been so eye-catching that several top clubs across the continent have been tracking his progress.

Deportivo La Coruna have been linked with Pepe on and off for over a year, but Porto have now slapped a massive €20 million (£13.7 million) price tag on his head to effectively end their pursuit.

Juve and Bayern Munich do not appear to be deterred though, as they both seek to strengthen ahead of next season.

Both clubs will be hoping to challenge for the UEFA Champions League next term after successful domestic campaigns, and will battle it out for his signature over the summer.

Pepe is contracted to Porto until June 2008, and has so far declined to comment on the speculation.
