County trialist shines in win

Trialist Anthony Howell gave League Two side Notts County a lightning start to their 2-1 friendly victory over Crewe Alexandra.
The winger put The Magpies into the ascendancy in the first minute of the game with a cool finish past the Crewe keeper.
The Magpies lined up with two trialist strikers, including Chris Atkins from Hucknall Town, but it was their wingers who made the most significant impact on the game.
Howell is looking to secure a place at Gudjon Thordarson's (pictured) County after having spent the early part of the season at non-league side Shepshed Dynamo.
County, who are currently 15th in League Two, head to struggling Barnet at the weekend, while Crewe face fellow relegation contenders Sheffield Wednesday.
