Jacques Santini has named his very first Equipe de France today with four new names on the list: Auxerre's Philippe Mexès, Rennes' Anthony Reveillere, Liverpool's Bruno Cheyrou and Lyon's Sidney Govou.

This quartet selected by Santini makes sense as the players were among the very best performers in le Championnat last season.

The full lists reads as follows:

Goalkeepers:
Grégory Coupet (Lyon), Ulrich Ramé (Bordeaux)

Defenders:
Jérémy Bréchet (Lyon), Vincent Candela (AS Rome/Ita), Philippe Christanval (Barcelone/Esp), Marcel Desailly (Chelsea/Eng), Philippe Mexes (Auxerre), Anthony Réveillère (Rennes), Willy Sagnol (Bayern Munich/All), Mikaël Silvestre (Manchester United/Eng), Lilian Thuram (Juventus/Ita)

Midfielders:
Eric Carrière (Lyon), Bruno Cheyrou (Liverpool/Eng), Claude Makelele (Real Madrid/Esp), Emmanuel Petit (Chelsea/Eng), Patrick Vieira (Arsenal/Eng), Zinédine Zidane (Real Madrid/Esp)

Forwards:
Djibril Cissé (Auxerre), Sidney Govou (Lyon), Thierry Henry (Arsenal/Eng), Steve Marlet (Fulham/Eng), Sylvain Wiltord (Arsenal/Eng)
